GREEN CONNECTIONS
- Rebuilding Community in Beirut's Empty Lots -

In response to the social distancing realities brought by the COVID-19 pandemic, an innovative endeavor aims to reintegrate the community through the development of public parks in unused urban plots in Beirut, Lebanon, addressing the city's scarcity of green spaces. This initiative is grounded in the belief that physical spaces can catalyze social interaction and community healing.
GREEN CONNECTIONS is a proposal of an accessible, inviting park, an initiative encouraging residents to step outside, interact, and rebuild the social ties weakened by the pandemic, by reinvigorating the Mar Mikhael neighborhood with areas dedicated to relaxation and community. It therefore ensures the city's adaptation to post-pandemic needs while promoting environmental sustainability.
